Color trends fall 2022 – Get Ready!!

You probably already know the typical fall colors, brown, camel, maroon etc. and how to pair said color families quite well. While these colors are still as reliable as ever, let me direct your focus to some more exciting colors. The color palette for fall/winter 2022 highlights our desire for versatile, timeless, colors reflecting a less-is-more mindset; explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone Color Institute, “colors whose timelessness and versatility convey a level of functionality and at the same time lend themselves to unique color statements those will stand out.”

This fall, one of the biggest color trends is anything but dark and dialed-back. Brace yourselves because pastels will be what people will be wearing this fall. The delicate shades that are most commonly seen back in the spring collections are here again, it’s a sign that we are seeing them play out so strongly for fall. All the designers are working with completely different aesthetics and an infinite number of options, if you watch the runways closely one thing you will notice, there is almost always a theme of colors. Even luxury brand such as The Row, whose collections usually follow a strict neutral only rule, featured bright colors amid the latest campaigns. While summer is nearing its end, it looks like there no shortage of vivid hues ahead.

While lilac and ballet pink are picking up steam as the specific colors to have in your closet, there is also a range of bright blue, hot pink, marigold, orange that will most definitely pack a punch upcoming season. What better way to pop in during the upcoming NY fashion week than cobalt, violet, fuchsia, tangerine or marigold right? Hot Pink –

There has already been an overload of hot pink thanks to the virality of “Barbie core”. I hope the momentum will stay as it is until holiday season. The color has a party vibe no doubt.

Color trend that took over for spring and summer, and as we move into fall, the shade will be dialed back to shades of apricot and bright orange.

Shades like aqua and cerulean are extremely popular right now but this striking cobalt blue happens to reign supreme. There is something about this shade that just pairs so beautifully with beige and taupe.

Shimmer –

It is not exactly a color but look at how often it showed up in different fall collections, shimmer/sequins are no stranger to holiday season, but these are not the average sparkly pieces, think about crystal netting, sheer sequins, and various embellishments.

Purple/Lilac –

Lilac is one of the most talked-about colors from the F/W 22 collections, while designers like Khaite, Sergio Hudson embracing this delicate hue, there are others that are embracing darker shade of purple.

Green –

Green has been the go-to color for fashion insiders for last several years, Kelly green, florescent, you name it. While pigmented/saturated shades are still trending, designers are now introducing muted shades such as celery and mint green.

Sunflower Yellow/Marigold –

The shade that gained the most attention during fashion month, it was least expected, but that’s the nature of trends right, you never know what makes a statement and how. I am seeing myself loathing in this shade coming fall, there are already few pieces in my shopping cart. lol.

Sky Blue –

A new shade of blue takes center stage in fashion each season, while cobalt blue is having the major moment for fall, there are softer sky-blue pieces that are just as dominant.
