Festival season is here, and while we are obviously excited for the great food, stunning decorations, and some much-needed vacation/family time, we are also always eager to find the perfect pieces to complete our looks. Festival dressing should be fun and carefree, so here we are taking this opportunity to play with some of the coolest styles that seem to fit in perfectly. Warm colors? Check. Indo-west? Check. Mix-n-match? Check & Check. Even neon feels appropriate given the occasion and vibe. So, sit back and enjoy the Modaks and Puran Polis while we take care of your festival closet.

Basic-classic –

You can’t go wrong with the basics, the only rule is to keep the focus on the fabric while choosing basic pieces, basic doesn’t mean you have to wear cotton kurtas during the festivities. Opt for fabrics such as cotton silk, silk or tussar to add a glamour. If your preference is still cotton, choose styles which have some kind of details like khadi with silk borders, thread work or an entirely modern silhouette (see option 3). Pair one with the matching pants or even your go-to denim, add some traditional accessory and voila!!

Warm Colors –

Warm shades and festivals go hand in hand we all know that, opt for shades like orange, hot pink, marigold (the upcoming fall 2022 shade), even purple would look great in some shades, neon is trending since last couple of seasons, try lime green kurta or a saree with silver gota work specifically, stunning!!!! You can also play with odd combos like, sage green pants with hot pink kurta or marigold kurta with a purple silk palazzo etc. I am always into mixing odd color combos to create something different.

Metallic & Velvet –

Swathing ourselves in metallic & velvet is usually the norm during festivals/holidays/party seasons, opt for warm fuchsia or gold (see below) in linen zari fabric and any cooler tone such as blue, green or grey for the velvet.

Modern Silhouettes –

Traditional with little twist, perfect definition of fun and carefree dressing. Also called as Co-Ord sets.

Indo-Western –

With increasing exposure of the Indian subcontinent to the western world, the merging of women’s clothing style is inevitable, an enthusiastic approach to combining traditional clothes with a western touch.

Mix-n-match –

My personal favorite, since there is no rule here except you understand the combinations really well. I love pairing maxi dresses with palazzos and straight pants with color contrast dupattas and accessories, following are the few style boards that may help you putting your outfit together.
