For decades, fashion trends are determined by what designers put out on the runways as well as what’s worn by celebrities, and more recently, street stylers and influencers have been key when it comes to deciding which clothes, we buy each season. But after pandemic the fashion industry is attempting to rework itself into a more sustainable path, transforming trend-driven items into more timeless products. As there is a huge shift in consumer buying behavior, a significant change is also seen when it comes to what’s-trending vs what’s practical. As a buyer I have noticed the past years that the customers are making more considered purchases of investment that they will cherish and wear for years to come, whether that is a heritage handbag or a key piece of an outerwear, looks like the idea is to build a forever wardrobe. And there are timeless and well-made, beautiful pieces no doubt that won’t date and can be worn flawlessly from season to season.
