The warm weather countdown is on, and we have officially got summer wardrobe on the brain. From saturated tones to sheer dresses to the return of the retro prints, while florals may never actually be groundbreaking, head-to-toe retro inspired flower prints are back and bolder than ever and looks like they will last quite longer this time. Many of the pieces are inspired by vintage items. Think ’60s and ’70s inspired wallpapers, interiors and dresses.
Bold saturated shades from the runways are taking a center stage for summer, think fuchsia, raspberry, orange, neon yellow and hot pink. It’s time to say good-bye to the tie-dye, at least till the season ends and say yes to the shiny bright bold colors.
Another trend that has more longevity is plisse. The fabric has rich, expensive and chic appearance and it never gets wrinkles which is a huge plus for last minute dressers:)
When a certain trend hits the runway, it’s pretty solid indication that it will be everywhere in next six months. The A-list may get to have fun with skin-baring styles on the red carpet, but this season you can try it too, the skin-baring fashion can be challenging to wear sometimes, I know, but the resurgence of 2000s trends at the moment is huge, and this trend has picked up more and more steam over the past few seasons, and it will be sticking around in every possible version.
Vest is another item that is having its moment and will be around for a while, whether it’s a knit version or tailored. It is the perfect piece for the layering, you most likely have a white button-down in your closet, try layering under a vest, and to avoid things looking too formal, add pants in a different shade. You can also opt for a matching vest set, it’s an easy and quick option that can never go wrong. Vests are normally considered a polished piece of clothing but the number of options that are available today prove that it doesn’t fall into only one category. Keep scrolling.
Another trend that is making its way is open-back. Backless pieces actually date back well into the 1930s, with a nipped-in waist and elegantly long silhouette, clothing as a whole might have been more conservative nearly a century ago, but the designers certainly knew how to design a dress that showed off little skin. Even in the 80s, backless trend came back for another trip around the sun. And in the 90s and 2000s, ultra-low backless dresses were in style, this trend certainly got better with time and even today the sultrier open back is having its moment.
As someone who has worked in the industry more than a decade now, I can quickly tell you what trends are going to get noticed and what you should put in the backside of the wardrobe. So, you can trust me:)
Below are the trends that are going to last not only for summer but for fall too. Happy Scrolling!!

Originally referred to fabric that had been woven or gathered into pleats and has also been known as crinkle crêpe. It takes its name from the French word for fold. Today, it is a lightweight fabric with a crinkled, puckered surface, formed in ridges or stripes.
